Re-Connect/Centre/Converge: ArtsFest 2023

Sub at the carpark! Last September, artists and audiences gathered at Re-Connect/Centre/Converge: ArtsFest 2023 by The Substation, which featured 15 of Singapore's emerging and established multi-disciplinary artists in audio, collage, installations, interactive and performative works, music, pottery, poetry, photography, sculpture, and video. Curated by this year’s festival director, John Tung, the ArtsFest included 8 festival commissions, 5 artist loans, and 3 guest readings - all converged into a new, centralised world for the re-connecting of wandering souls, if only for just 15 days at a carpark.

Participating Artists: Adeline Kueh, Amelia Lim, Ang Kia Yee, Bridget Tay, Dennis Tan, Dylan Chan, Ezzam Rahman, Hong Shu-ying, Joshua Kon, Kim Whye Kee, Lai Yu Tong, Marc Nair, Marvin Tang, Masuri Mazlan, and Susie Lingham.

Three site-specific installations - by Hong Shu-ying, Joshua Kon, and Lai Yu Tong - were sold at the festival.

The festival was held from 16 - 30 September 2023 at PARKLANE Mall Level 8 Carpark; with support from Chia Wei Ling, Camellia Premium Rock Tea, Kosma Holdings Pte Ltd, Zarch Collaboratives, and gideon-jamie.
