Objective: To learn how to cut a wood block and use it to print on paper, t-shirt and tote bag

Beginning with a brief history on woodcut printing in Singapore and abroad, partipants of this workshop will be introduced to one of the oldest methods and techniques of printmaking.
Participants will be shown examples of previously cut woodblocks and will be given a demonstration on the different methods of cutting and technical aspects of woodcut printmaking on fabric and watercolour paper.
The participants will then cut A6 sized woodblocks, print on watercolour paper, and also choose to print on either a provided t-shirt or tote bag. Participants may bring home their print on watercolour paper, their printed t-shirt or tote bag, the woodblock and tools.
This workshop is presented as part of The Substation’s Arts Education Programme (AEP).
