The Substation is proud to present, Sama-sama: Comfort is on the menu by Adeline Kueh, as part of Re-connect/Centre/Converge: The Arts Festival by The Substation.
Sama-sama is a Malay term that has a few meanings. It could mean “you’re welcome”, “together”, and “we’re the same”.
The process of sharing food allows for storytelling, hopes and fears, bringing together generational sharing of knowledge. This installation + performance project will serve as a meeting place for the artist and community through food, to establish meaningful connections via the sharing of a meal.
