Make your own engraved decorations for the holidays! Participate in a laser-cut workshop at the Substation from 15 - 22 November to design your own ornaments and festive tree. You can also personalise your holiday gifts and door greetings. Take time for yourself or bring your family, friends, and your special others for three hours of creative activity.
Package 1: Make Your Own Holiday Tree with Engraved Ornaments (SGD 90)

At the end of the Zoom session, the general participants will be able to understand typographic design and use what they learned about typography to create their personal name initials with the Inkscape software. Their designs will be engraved on a piece of plywood using a laser-cut machine to make decorative ornaments for the holiday. These will be distributed during module 2 of the workshop or delivered to their home for a fee. Module 1a is a requirement for Module 2.
Module 2: Assemble Your Holiday Tree

At the end of the workshop, the participants will learn basic flat-pack wood joinery. They will use this to be able to assemble their flat-pack holiday tree by hand using the fabrications they created in Module 1a.

About the Instructor
Eunice Lacaste (eunicelacaste.com) is a doctoral student at the NTU ADM. She has worked as a digital interface designer for a decade while maintaining her art practice. Eunice is part of The Substation’s Artist Associate Program with Fertile Art Refinery and is also a member of Wuwei Performance Series’ committee.
This workshop is presented as part of The Substation's Arts Education Programme (AEP).
